Commission for the Support of Victims of Crime

The Commission for the Support of Victims of Crime is allocated an annual budget from the Department of Justice and Law Reform to provide funding for services and supports to victims of crime. The Commission also works to improve cohesion and consistency of service and information available to victims of crime.

The Commission is an independent body which operates under the aegis of the Department of Justice and Law Reform. It is comprised of a chairman and a board. The secretariat is provided by the Victims of Crime Office. The Commission tends to give preference to funding for those organisations giving direct support to victims of crime.
